I love splitting with my Fiskars axe. I believe that you're using the Fiskars X25 28" splitting axe. I can tell you've been splitting wood a lot of your life. Most people don't care or understand the importance of the shock absorbing handles on these axes. I tend to overstrike a few times when I start splitting in the new year. Now, I don't need to buy new tools or handles every year, lol. I second the yule log streaming idea. I'll leave it on for the holiday in my bedroom, where I wish I had a fireplace.
